URL Encoder

Convert unsafe characters into standard percent-encoded strings to build valid URL components securely.

Understanding URL Percent-Encoding Mechanisms

Web browsers transmit URL tracking parameters over internet channels using a strict standard set of characters. Spaces, brackets, emojis, and extended multi-byte symbols break request operations if left unencoded. This tool maps non-compliant characters to their hex representations locally on your machine.

Component Encoding vs. Full URL Encoding

  • Component Mode (encodeURIComponent): Used for query strings or data parameters. It safely escapes structural tokens such as slashes (/), colons (:), and ampersands (&).
  • Full URL Mode (encodeURI): Used for complete link addresses. It leaves routing components like http:// or https:// intact while encoding characters that could cause errors.
