Understanding Chronological Math & Standard Time Bounds
Time conversion factors use a combination of sexagesimal baselines for small increments and astronomical constants for larger ranges. To ensure consistency, this tool uses a fixed calendar model baseline mapped around Seconds:
- The Sexagesimal Foundation: Standardized parameters where 1 minute contains 60 seconds, and 1 hour encompasses exactly 60 minutes or 3,600 seconds.
- Astronomical & Calendar Conversions: Standardized profiles where 1 day spans exactly 24 hours, 1 week tracks 7 days, 1 mean calendar year captures 365.25 days, and 1 standard nominal month maps to exactly 1/12th of that year (30.4375 days).
